Caged or Free Ranged?
The group explored the air temple, otherwise known as the Path in the Clouds. In heading to Astropolis, the group had the usual option of taking their beloved Fan Men in for travel to the sky isles, or the Air Ship. With their new found money and fame, the group travelled on a luxury air cruiser where they searched for information on the temple. They explored the gentleman’s lounge and the bar to find out that they could either travel there in the twilight or the dawn which could give them different option. After choosing the twilight, they could see their paths illuminated toward them. They broke through the doorway, into a room with a large bird in the centre of a large pillar surrounded by an infinite drop. The bird was chained up, and after DJ used their ring to talk to it, found out its eggs were being taken around the platform it could not reach. DJ comforted the creature, while Barnaby and Fish fought off little invisible elementals trying to blast smoke in the area. Suddenly, YG7 reared his head and came to spy on them, and was clearly well armed. Fish distracted the elementals and caused them much ruckus. In the fight, Barnaby got overwhelmed and pushed YG7 into the abyss below. After retrieving the eggs, the group travelled into the next area where Barnaby chose the green wind of protection over the flaming disc of offence. They knew YG7 had been brought indy the maestro, but were able to stop him.

Techno-Kracken
The crew investigated a legend known to Barnaby of a great sea monster ravaging the shores of the Plunder Coast. Heading into the town Barnaby headed to see his love Jolene in her raven the Dropped Anchor. There he met a sea-matey named Malcolm who said he had seen a beast. Fish investigated with some local kittens who had been displaced after their library home was rocked by an earthquake. They found out that the library had some of the Maestro’s mics notes thaw ere disrupted by DJ’s music. Fish took them to the radio tower as they had heard for the kittens there was an issue. There DJ slang into action as music was play and the voice of the Maestro could be heard. Barnaby decided that they needed to face the creature on shore after a back and forth between Malcolm and a local fish-man thug debated taking out out to sea. After a brief earthquake, Barnaby arranged for some cannons, Fish protected his friends and DJ set up a DJ rig. A gigantic proportioned create came to shore with tentacles and a leviathan body. The team learnt through DJ’s ring that the create had been grafted with radio antenna and technology. DJ disrupted its tentacles, while Barnaby leapt to pull out the tech, trying to avoid a fight. As the tech was ripped form its body, Fish sprang into healing it with its warmth. The creature cried out in pain and eventually left, thanking the group. In the mean time a small rift had opened at the library and more music note-bubbles were emerging to create more earthquakes. while Branaby and fish finished up with the monster, DJ disrupted the notes with their music and the town was saved. They knew the Mastro was intervening again.
Thoughts
I have been trying to weave in the main conflicting villain into everything they are doing in order to get the team riled up for a major fight. I am excited to take them as an RM, through the remaining temples. In the mean time, I am concerned that I am not sure how to challenge them with a fight of this significance in the shorter times of our sessions. I like to have a 2-2.5 hour session but its getting to much to have a mystery and a major combat/conflict. I will work on my pacing and structure and get people into the action as needed, or be less afraid of sessions going over 2. More to come! I have also been tweaking minor rules for 0.5. Things that require tidy up of language here and there, The next big “bugbear” of mine will be the conditions and critical that need an overhaul. they simply feel vestigial of a time gone by I want them to fresh and relevant to the system and the type of stories made for them. Again, more to come!
