Layout and Design
Roles in design.
I have started the process of laying out. a zine format of my TTRPG Rift Walker. It has helped me do a few things to the writing that I thought was interesting to share about.
Streamlining text - the text was overly verbose, and formatting it to A5 size, has helped me cut back on unnecessary text.
Ordering - it helped me order the text and the sub heading layouts.
Groups of 6 - there is lots of groups of 6 in my design; campaign models, NPC archetypes etc, which has been nice to layout in groups
Hand made art - I was unsure how I wanted to do art, until I had the urge to do the art myself. This process made me see that the game has a design element to it that all RMs and players must do, to flavour their campaigns - that hand drawn art was the only way. It showcases the hand design element.
Rules elements - the rules that I was not into, have now gotten a chance for redevelopment and redesign.
This will take some time, but I look forward to sharing more when it’s done!
